PatternsAspects

aspects1 are an account of verified interactions that indicate the realisation of potential made possible by the application of practice on-the-ground.

an action-learning journey serves the purpose of onboarding and aligning the necessary stakeholders, at multiple levels of place, into a process of co-designing a peer-to-peer protocol that encodes a given place-sourced practice.

practice-currencies, co-designed between communities of place and communities of practice, give voice to those stewarding the essence of their region, and a means to make their work visible to trusted external evaluators.

currencies2 are the verified measurements that form the foundation for data-backed storytelling. all the additional media - meeting recordings, photos, audio notes, design documents - are (qualitative) layers of additional context that give wholeness to this underlying (quantitative) account.

  1. aspect (n.): late 14c., an astrological term, “relative position of the planets as they appear from earth” (i.e., how they “look at” one another); also “one of the ways of viewing something,” from Latin aspectus “a seeing, looking at, sight, view; countenance; appearance,” from past participle of aspicere “to look at, look upon, behold; observe, examine,” figuratively “consider, ponder,” from ad “to” (see ad-) + specere “to look” (from PIE root *spek- “to observe”).

  2. Currency as current-see. Current (adj.): flowing.
